A 17-year-old Sunshine Coast male is facing three charges of break and enter after three reported thefts last Tuesday.
On the afternoon of April 4, Sunshine Coast RCMP responded to a break and enter in progress at the 1000 block of Edmonds Road in Roberts Creek.
Cpl. Max Fossum said a male was observed running from a victim's residence.
"Police patrolled that area and were still searching for the culprit when two more break and enters were reported in the same area," said Fossum in a press release. "Police were then tipped off about a suspicious male who was looking at beach houses in the vicinity where the break and enters occurred."
Fossum said police spotted the male and he matched the description of the break and enter suspect.
"He was detained for a short period of time and was then arrested for the three break and enters," said Fossum. "For each break and enter, the culprit had gained entry by smashing a window."
Police found gloves, a large knife and items from the B&Es on the suspect.
The suspect was released to a parent and will appear in Sechelt provincial court at a later date to face the charges.
