Water restrictions in the Sunshine Coast Regional District's (SCRD) South Pender and Eastbourne water system were lifted Nov. 8.
According to a Nov. 8 SCRD press release, recent rain events have filled McNeill Lake, the primary source for the South Pender system to overflowing. That same precipitation has also substantially recharged the wells in Eastbourne.
South Pender had remained on Level 2 restriction since July 29, and Eastbourne system on Keats Island had spent most of the summer of 2022 at Stage 4.
The SCRD's Chapman water system, which serves areas between Secret Cove and West Howe Sound, remains at under an State of Local Emergency, which has been extended to Nov. 14, and at Stage 4 water conservation regulations, which include a ban on all outdoor water uses.
