Two arrested on Canada-wide warrants

Sunshine Coast RCMP

Sunshine Coast RCMP with the help of other law enforcement agencies, arrested two men on Canada-wide warrants Sunday afternoon in Narrows Inlet.

On April 5, RCMP along with the West Coast Marine, Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team members and Police Dog Services responded to information of the two suspects who were spotted in Narrows Inlet.

According to RCMP, West Coast Marine Services was in the area and agreed to assist with the search of the two males, who were also suspects in multiple break-ins both on the Ragged Islands and Sechelt Inlet. The males were believed to be armed, as firearms had been reported stolen from at least one break-in.

“We needed to elevate our response based on the information we had received with respect to firearms,” said Sgt. Steve Chubey. “The utilization of Lower Mainland ERT and police dog services added that measure of safety for all involved.”

Travis Paradon-Netzlaw, 22, and James Graham, 27, were located in the Salmon Inlet near Misery Bay and were arrested after being tracked by the police dog. One male sustained minor injuries during the arrest and was taken to Sechelt Hospital as a precautionary measure.

Both males were held in custody for two Vancouver warrants for theft over $5,000, possession of stolen property over $5,000, mischief, two counts of break and enter and taking a vehicle without owner’s expense.

RCMP is also currently investigating the suspects for several other property and firearms-related offences.
