The Sechelt Aquatic Centre is back in business.

The Sechelt and Gibsons and District Aquatic Centres will return to regular pool hours effective Nov. 2. Hours in Sechelt will start at 6 a.m. and in Gibsons the pool opens at 6:30 a.m.

In Sechelt, the pool and hot tub areas of the facility were closed on Oct 18 under a State of Local Emergency Order that banned use of drinking water by certain commercial water users on the Sunshine Coast Regional District's (SCRD) Chapman water system. That order has been lifted. Its hot tub will remain closed, as Stage 4 water conservation measures for those on the Chapman system remain in place. Those restriction include a ban on all outdoor water uses.

In an SCRD press release dated, Nov. 1, all programming and user group rentals will resume and impacted participants will be contacted. A full listing of hours at the Sechelt Aquatic Centre is availavle at www.scrd.ca/sechelt-aquatic-centre

The release also noted that until the Stage 4 water restrictions are lifted, the installation of ice at the Sunshine Coast Area continues to be "on hold."
