A spike belt and a sharp-eyed civilian recently helped recover a stolen Honda Accord.
According to an RCMP news release, on March 9, three charges were laid against a 33-year-old Sechelt man Kyle James Stevens, including theft of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property and driving while suspended.
Police had been searching for the red Honda Accord, reported stolen in mid-February, and had made appeals to the public for help.
"It was spotted in Sechelt by a sharp eyed civilian who had seen the media release requesting the public's assistance. The civilian was able to provide updates on the vehicle as it travelled toward Gibsons," said the news release. "RCMP members used a spike belt to stop the vehicle on Lower Road in Roberts Creek and subsequently arrested the driver without incident."
