Sechelt man to be back in court July 27 on drug charges

Anthony Benedict Pearce was in Sechelt Provincial Court on drug-related charges July 6. Pearce, who is not in custody, reported to the courthouse alone. He appeared before Justice of the Peace Colleen Johnson, who attended court via video link, and slated his next appearance for July 27.

Counsel with the Public Prosecution Service of Canada, Lisa Drumbrell told Coast Reporter via email that the 62-year-old Sechelt resident is facing four charges related to possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking in fentanyl, lysergic acid diethlamide (LSD) and Methamphetamine.

On June 15, he made his initial court appearance on the charges, which were filed May 16 following an RCMP raid on a residence in the 5500 block of Inlet Avenue in Sechelt. During that raid which resulted in his arrest, cash and illegal drugs were seized.
