SD 46 receives $55,000 in mental health funds

School District 46 has received $55,000 in mental health funds from the Ministry of Education and Childcare to use this school year.

The funds will be used to support the Mental Health in School Strategy, the school board heard Sept. 14

The strategy includes compassionate systems leadership, trauma-informed and/or trauma-sensitive capacity building, social and emotional learning, and mental health literacy, as well as mental health support in the classroom.
