As the B.C. Restart Plan continues to ease restrictions, the Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) is working on reopening rentable spaces in compliance with public health orders.

A June 29 press release from the SCRD says the regional district has experienced an increase in rental requests for its facilities and gathering spaces.

“We are excited to welcome our community back to our spaces and will do the utmost to ensure we can facilitate bookings,” Graeme Donn, the manager of recreation services, said in the release. “We have all seen how quickly public health orders can be amended and our booking guidance is in place to respond to any changes that may come up.”

The SCRD recommends those looking to book a space to refer to the Restart Plan guidelines on the number of attendees allowed, and to book at least one month after the earliest date restrictions related to the event will be lifted.

More updates will be announced in conjunction with the provincial Restart Plan stages.
