Josh Holl, a 21-year-old Sechelt man, is in jail facing nine charges, including robbery, break and enter, disguising his face with the intention of committing a crime and possession of a controlled substance. Several of the alleged offences date back to 2004.

According to RCMP Const. Andy Cook, Holl turned himself in after an incident at the Village Restaurant in Sechelt July 28. Cook said two men ate a meal at the restaurant and left without paying, one of them grabbing money from the till as they left. A restaurant employee chased after them but could not catch them, Cook said. Two men later turned themselves in to police.

"During the course of Holl's stay in custody, he was interviewed concerning a number of open investigations from 2004, where he had been identified as a suspect," Cook said in a press release. Holl now is charged with three break and enters at Sechelt businesses Al's Power Plus, Tony's Lock and Photo Works where large amounts of merchandise were stolen. He is also charged with robbing the Family Mart and Corner Cupboard stores in early 2004.

Holl appeared in Sechelt provincial court Aug. 8 but deferred his bail hearing and voluntarily agreed to remain in custody until his next court appearance on Aug. 23.

Police released the second man charged with the Village Restaurant theft on a promise to appear in court. His name has not yet been released.
