A Sechelt man has been sentenced to five months in jail after pleading guilty for his part in two break and enters.

Jason Pierre appeared in Sechelt provincial court on Tuesday and immediately pled guilty to two counts of being unlawfully in a dwelling house and was sentenced to the prison term. According to Sunshine Coast RCMP Const. Bryson Hill, Pierre is now in jail and will remain in jail until his sentence is served.

Hill said on Monday night around 7 p.m. police responded to a call of a break and enter in progress in Sechelt.

"When police arrived at the scene, the suspect male, Jason Pierre, was found inside the residence and was arrested for break and enter," said Hill. "Subsequent investigation revealed that Pierre had broken in to another residence just minutes prior and on both occasions had entered the residences while the owners were still inside."
