One man is dead and three were injured in a boating accident in Jervis Inlet early Thursday. Around 1 a.m., the Rescue Co-ordination Centre in Victoria received a call for assistance after a boat accident near Deserted Bay, Jervis Inlet.
The Coast Guard, Sunshine Coast RCMP and civilian vessels rushed to the scene.
According to Cpl. Don Newman, one man died as a result of his injuries, while three other men were transported to Vancouver area hospitals with what is believed to be non life-threatening injuries. The accident is still under investigation. The victim's name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
