October trial for accused child molester

Sechelt businessman Fred Church will go to trial Oct. 25 on charges of sexually assaulting or sexually touching four teenagers. There are four alleged victims, three boys and one girl, who were all between 12 and 15 years old when the alleged sexual incidents took place in 2001 and 2002.

Altogether, Church is charged with two counts of sexual assault, two counts of touching a young person for a sexual purpose, two counts of sexual interference with a person under 14 and two counts of invitation to sexual touching with a person under 14.

Church appeared in B.C. Supreme Court in Vancouver on Feb. 25 to set his trial date. One week of court time has been reserved for the trial.
