Male sought for alleged sexual assault on bus

Sunshine Coast RCMP are seeking the public's assistance to locate a man wanted in connection with an alleged sexual assault on a B.C. Transit bus. According to police, on Feb. 10 between 8:30 and 9 p.m.

Sunshine Coast RCMP are seeking the public's assistance to locate a man wanted in connection with an alleged sexual assault on a B.C. Transit bus.

According to police, on Feb. 10 between 8:30 and 9 p.m., a suspicious man got on the transit bus near Cowrie Street and Inlet Avenue in Sechelt.

"The bus was southbound, headed towards Langdale. The male sat down next to a teenage female and touched her in a sexual manner," said Staff Sgt. Kevin Picard. "The victim changed seats, but the suspect followed and sat down next to her again. The victim got off the bus in Gibsons and the suspect stayed on the bus. Police are looking for anyone who may have information or who may have been on the bus and witnessed the incident."

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, 40 to 50 years old, 6 feet tall, 170 pounds (described as slim to medium build), with medium length, dark, greying hair, dark eyes, bushy eyebrows and a pale complexion. He was unshaven but had no beard or mustache, brown-yellow stained fingers, dirty fingernails, crooked, yellow-brown teeth and a wrinkled face. He was wearing a blue/white flannel jacket with square pockets and dirty construction boots.
