The Sunshine Coast Regional District updated recreation guidelines in accordance with the province’s four-step restart plan.

The Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) updated its recreation guidelines after the province announced its four-step restart plan.

Under the new guidelines, patrons at SCRD facilities are allowed to resume low-intensity group fitness classes. Yoga and core classes are back on. Registration is open at www.scrd.ca/myrecreation.

Spectators are still not permitted at indoor or outdoor sport activities.

“I want to assure our community that the SCRD’s focus continues to be on reopening our facilities and classes safely, in a way that allows our staff to sustain these services long-term,” Graeme Donn, manager of recreation services, said in a May 27 press release.

“Our staff are working to respond to these updated health orders and will continue to follow along as BC’s Restart Plan continues to roll out through the summer.”

Masks are still mandatory in all SCRD recreation facilities at all times.
