Hip Hip Hooray celebrates its 15th year nationally and its second on the Sunshine Coast this month. Hip Hip Hooray is a short walk symbolic of the return to mobility that patients gain through orthopedic surgery and promotes bone and joint health. It takes place every year across Canada involving tens of thousands of people.

The walk this year will take place in Dougall Park in Gibsons on Sunday, May 28. Registration starts at 10 a.m. with the walk starting at 11, followed by entertainment and a barbecue. Funds raised through donations will benefit the Sunshine Coast. Last year's event helped purchase a deluxe stationary bike for the physio department at St. Mary's Hospital. Organizers require participants to register prior to the event by contacting Gladys Elson at 604-886-3063 as soon as possible.
