Four cars stolen in five days

Sunshine Coast RCMP is investigating four auto thefts that occurred between July 28th and Aug. 1. On July 28 at approximately 5:30 a.m.

Sunshine Coast RCMP is investigating four auto thefts that occurred between July 28th and Aug. 1.

On July 28 at approximately 5:30 a.m., RCMP received a report of an unoccupied grey Chrysler LHS located in the north side ditch at the intersection of Hilltop Road and Field Road in Wilson Creek.

"The owner called police shortly after to report the vehicle stolen from his residence on Blower Road. The keys had been left in the vehicle," said Cpl. Steve Chubey in a news release.

On Aug. 1 at approximately 1:50 a.m. RCMP received a report of a theft of a vehicle that had just occurred near the 5600 block of Wharf Road in Sechelt.

"The complainant had just heard his vehicle start up as it was parked in his car port," said Chubey. "The vehicle, a red 1995 Jeep Cherokee, has a three-inch lift with 33-inch tires and two bush lights on the grill. The vehicle has not been located and the only key is with the owner."

Also on Aug. 1 at approximately 11:20 a.m., RCMP received a report of a vehicle stolen from the Langdale ferry terminal parking lot.

Chubey said the theft occurred sometime in the previous 24 hours and broken glass was found in the parking spot where her vehicle had been parked. The vehicle, a red 1999 Volkswagen Jetta (four-door) has not been located and the owner has the keys to the vehicle.

Again on Aug. 1 at approximately 6 p.m., RCMP received a report of a vehicle stolen from the Skookum Chrysler parking lot in the 1000 block of Gibsons Way.

The theft occurred sometime between 6:30 p.m. the previous night and 8 a.m. The vehicle, a red 2007 Fort F350 pickup, has not been located and the owner has the keys to the vehicle.

Sunshine Coast RCMP is asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of any of these vehicles or the identity of who may be responsible for the thefts to call 9-1-1, the Sechelt detachment at 604-885-2266 or BC Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
