In an unrelated case, two Sechelt men were arrested for allegedly robbing the Village Restaurant on Cowrie Street in Sechelt on July 29.

After dining at the restaurant, the males went to the till to pay. Instead, they reached into the till and grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash.

"The cashier attempted to stop the theft and slammed the till drawer on the thief's hand and the restaurant owner tackled the suspect," said Willis. "In the ensuing struggle the thief lost a shoe, and he and his partner fled from the scene. Police later attended to a nearby address where they located the matching shoe and arrested the owner."

According to police, the two men involved in the robbery later confessed.

RCMP have laid a variety of charges against both suspects including theft, breach of probation, breach of recognizance and possession of drugs.
