A 52-year-old Roberts Creek man sustained minor injuries after wiping out on his bicycle while travelling on Highway 101 near Conrad Road in Roberts Creek Friday morning (Aug. 1).

"The cyclist was travelling northbound on the highway when a motorist travelling the same direction honked at him," said Cpl. Steve Chubey in a news release. "The cyclist veered onto the shoulder of the roadway in order to make room for the vehicle, where he lost tracking due to the gravel and wet conditions."

Chubey said the man was taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Sechelt for treatment of a shoulder injury.

Chuibey added the passing vehicle did not stop and likely did not know what had occurred.
