Sunshine Coast RCMP are looking for information on what they characterize as “brazen break and enter events” involving Automated Teller Machines (ATM) in two Madeira Park locations.

In a Dec. 22 statement, the detachment’s media relations officer Cst. Karen Whitby stated that between 5 and 6 a.m. that same morning, the RCMP was alerted to attempts to break into and remove banks machines from the Sunshine Coast Credit Union as well as at the Grasshopper Pub. Part of the ATM at the pub was removed.

The police have surveillance camera footage believed related to the incidents. They are looking for what appears to be a black or dark-coloured, first-generation (model years between 1999 and 2007) SuperDuty Ford F250 or F350 pick up truck. They are also looking to identify the suspect shown in coverage photographs standing near the passenger side of the suspect vehicle, wearing a distinct jacket.

Anyone with any information or surveillance video in the area of either target location is asked to contact Sunshine Coast RCMP at 604-885-2266. The case file number is 2022-8025.
