Coquitlam sailings cancelled for the weekend

Sailings on the Queen of Coquitlam have been cancelled for both Saturday and Sunday. The Queen of Coquitlam was pulled from the Langdale-Horseshoe Bay route after experiencing mechanical issues on the 7:55 a.m. trip from Langdale Saturday morning.

All sailings on the Coquitlam on Saturday, including the 9 a.m. from HSB, the 11:10 a.m. and 1:35 p.m. from HSB and the 10:05 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. sailings from Langdale were all cancelled.

And according to an update from BC Ferries, the following sailings on Sunday, the 2:40 p.m. departing Langdale, the 3:45 p.m. departing HSB, the 4:45 p.m. departing Langdale, the 5:50 p.m. departing HSB, the 6:55 p.m. departing Langdale and the 7:55 p.m. departing HSB have also all been cancelled.

The Queen of Surrey will be the only ferry running on the route.

Passengers on the first morning sailing on Saturday reported being asked to go to the forward lounge because of smoke coming from the engine room, however the Coquitlam did arrive at the terminal on time and there was no emergency.

BC Ferries has not confirmed the exact cause of the mechanical issues.
