The civic leadership program at Capilano University is hosting a presentation on municipal processes on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 7 p.m. in Room 102 at the Sunshine Coast campus.

Bill Beamish, former chief administrative officer for the Town of Gibsons, is volunteering his time to present information about the processes and the dos and don'ts to efficiently get things done at a municipal level. This was identified as a follow-up priority for civic leadership program participants in the spring of 2008. This session will also be valuable for anyone thinking of running in the fall municipal elections or considering taking a leadership role in a community organization. Participants will learn how systems work and some of the various roles and responsibilities under the Municipal Act.

The session is free and open to the public. For further information contact Betty Baxter, program manager, civic leadership at [email protected].
