Thirty-seven members of 858 Skookumchuck Squadron Royal Canadian Air Cadets will parade in an annual review ceremony Sunday, May 29, at Elphinstone Secondary School.The reviewing officer is Maj. Tim Alguire, Area CIC liaison officer for the Lower Mainland.The cadet unit is commanded by Capt. Robert Waldie assisted by training staff Lieut. Karen Kusnir, Lieut. Vicky Little, 2nd Lieut. Nicole Jones, civilian instructors Norm Blair, Steve Sleep, David Bolder, Greg Capel and Ken Capron and volunteer instructor Patrick Harvey as well as acting captain Russell Crum. The cadet parade commander for Sunday's parade is cadet warrant officer first class Dorian Young.The event will include demonstrations planned and organized by the cadets, including precision drill team. Static displays will show the cadets' involvement in ground school, range team, air crew survival and general cadet training.In addition to the reviewing officer, the inspecting party will include Ken Higgins of the Air Cadet League of Canada B.C. committee and the chairman of the local sponsoring committee, Paul Kusnir.The annual review completes the local training for 858 Squadron cadets. The public is invited to view the ceremony starting at 1 p.m. and are asked to be seated by 12:50 p.m.Fifteen cadets have been selected to attend summer camp this year. Camps are in Albert Head Air Cadet Summer Training Centre - air cadet basic, introduction to leadership, air cadet instructor, air crew survival, physical and recreational training; Regional Gliding School, Comox - introduction to aviation; and Cold Lake Air Cadet Summer Training Centre - senior leaders course.
