The decommissioned HMS Annapolis was sunk in Halkett Bay Saturday afternoon in front of hundreds of on lookers.

Many who came out to watch the 110-foot Destroyer Escort sink were scuba divers eagerly anticipating the green light to dive into the sunken ship.

Hopefully, over the next couple of years, the Annapolis will become home to a diversity of marine life as well as a tourist attraction for the Sunshine Coast.
