Weston working on health initiative

All three governments on the Coast have endorsed West Vancouver-Sunshine Coast-Sea to Sky Country member of Parliament (MP) John Weston's call to make the first Saturday in June National Health and Fitness Day on the Coast.

Incident investigation report released

Former premier Gordon Campbell will not be facing penalties in regard to the July 2011 death of a worker at his property in Halfmoon Bay, but Sechelt's Weather Tight Supplies Ltd. may have to pay a fine, according to WorkSafe BC.

Public float now open

The Langdale small-boat float was opened to public access Feb. 29. "The result is that we now have a significantly improved float to drop off and pick up passengers alongside the Stormaway float," said Joe Wright of the Langdale Access Working Group.

Cutblock sold to B.C. company

Cutblock A87124 has been sold for approximately $2.2 million to a company in Pemberton that manufactures log homes. The sale was announced Feb. 29 after four tenders for the disputed cutblock were considered.

Trespass orders given to occupiers

BC Transit to expand Coast service

Coast students hold protests

High school students across the Coast walked out of classes at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 2, in support of teachers and formed a small contingent demonstrating near the Esso gas station in Sechelt.

District sued over golf course take-over

Brian Hall, former owner of the Sechelt Golf and Country Club (SGCC), has advanced a lawsuit against the District of Sechelt, suing for illegal forfeiture of the lease SGCC Ltd. held at the site.
