Author reading series returns

The Sunshine Coast Arts Council's author readings series is back. Last year, owing to budget cuts to the Canada Council, the arts council's application for support was denied, and it was able to host only one reading in the fall.

Poetry prize for local teacher

Poet and teacher Susan Telfer of Gibsons has won the 2013 Vancouver Writers' Fest Poetry Prize. In an international contest judged by a panel of peers, Telfer won for a poem called "Thirteen Ways of Looking at Garter Snakes".
