The first Artesia coffeehouse of 2014 will be held at the Sunshine Coast Arts Centre in Sechelt, tonight, Friday, Jan. 31.

The Roberts Creek Legion will be rocking Saturday night, Feb. 1, as Mindil Beach Markets (MBM) return for hometown show a night of hard rock, funky reggae, and groovy hip-hop. They'll be celebrating the release of their newest single, Erotic Novel.

Poet and teacher Susan Telfer of Gibsons has won the 2013 Vancouver Writers' Fest Poetry Prize. In an international contest judged by a panel of peers, Telfer won for a poem called "Thirteen Ways of Looking at Garter Snakes".

The Coast Recital Society (CRS) begins 2014 with a scintillating concert of music for piano four-hands by the Bergmann Piano Duo. The concert takes place this Sunday afternoon, Jan. 19 at 2:30 p.m.
