Members of the Hospice Society set up an information booth at this year’s Creek Daze on Saturday, Aug. 12.
The Society “provides compassionate, respectful end-of-life and bereavement support for residents of the Sunshine Coast through trained and experienced volunteers” (see www.coasthospice.com).
The group was also selling raffle tickets for the “Ultimate 50/50” draw with prizes up to $15,000. Tickets are still available through several community outlets (see the website or call 604-740-0475 for details); draw date is Oct. 5.
The next event hosted by the Hospice Society will be a gala evening of music and spoken word at the Rockwood Pavilion Sept. 16, with the extraordinary talent of Shane Koyczan. Tickets are at share-there.com, Sechelt Visitor Centre, MELOMania in Roberts Creek and Laedeli in Sunnycrest Mall.
