On Saturday, Sept. 23, Sunshine Coast-Sechelt Rotary Club hosted the 11th annual Whiskey Around the World event at Blue Ocean Golf Club in Sechelt, with Rotarian Gerry Webb as master of ceremonies.
Whiskey expert Andrew Starritt introduced the five whiskeys sampled during the evening, each paired with beautiful creations from chef Gordon Clendenning.
Piper Bill Linden honoured tradition by piping in the whiskey, helped by Rotary volunteers in red tartan and a smiling Guy Dawkins.
Ed Hill, who always raises laughs as well as cash, led a lively auction.
Geoff Craig was the winner of $1,000 from the 50/50 draw; he donated $500 back to Rotary towards Ndandini scholarships.
Proceeds from the evening go to Rotary community projects and the worldwide End Polio Now campaign.
