Congratulations to our amazing friend, Miyuki Shinkai on receiving this year’s George Matthews award of excellence in the BC Confederation of Parent Advisory Councils AGM in Richmond on May 6.
Tamara Hedden, Cedar Grove PAC chair says, “She is my mentor and I’m so incredibly thankful for all she has taught me! We can’t thank her enough for all she does for the students of our district, how blessed are we to have Miyuki.”
Scott Davis, local District Parent Advisory Council chair says, “The award is for excellence and it came with a very high threshold of evidence. It started with Tracey, the DPAC treasurer reading her email and mentioning it. Then it snowballed to needing “behind the scenes” effort of all of stakeholders. It was a push to get it all done on time. We submitted the forms the day of the deadline and waited. We heard it was received and then we waited until Miyuki got the call. Congratulation to Miyuki and thank you to each one of you helped.”
