A group of globally-minded Grade 7 students from Cedar Grove Elementary School contributed to the We Day efforts.
They took it upon themselves to bake up a storm to support education and clean water in Third World countries.
Inspired by the We Foundation, which is a service learning organization aimed at empowering youth, the students booked a spot at Sunnycrest Mall, spent all day Saturday baking and raised $640 at a bake sale on Sunday.
The Cedar Grove We Team were set to join in on the nationally renowned We Day event to donate their earnings on Oct. 19 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver.
