Shorncliffe to hold Treasure Sale

Sechelt

Shorncliffe Care Centre in Sechelt will hold a Treasure Sale, bake sale and silent auction on Saturday, June 3 – and will be accepting donations until the day of the event.

The nursing home’s activities department and the Shorncliffe Family Council have been collecting donated items – everything except books, clothing, shoes, baby seats, Christmas items and heavy furniture – for the event, which will be held in the Lions Club hall in Greenecourt, 5583 Ocean Ave., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Funds raised will be used to help enhance activity programming, paying for local musicians to perform at Shorncliffe and to take residents out to special events in the community.

“This is important for us because it will help battle the isolation that our residents face as they age and to help reconnect them with the community, said Alison Kilpatrick, activity/day program coordinator at Shorncliffe.

Shorncliffe’s Terry Barker will be selling and signing copies of his books at the event.
