Lexa Pomfret, on behalf of RCMSAR12 Halfmoon Bay, accepts a Community Investment Program (CIP) grant for $4,500 from Sechelt Mayor Darnelda Siegers. These grants are intended to support non-profit and charitable organizations deliver services which contribute to the social, cultural, and environmental well-being of the community. RCMSAR12 is grateful for this grant, which they will use to purchase emergency equipment – namely a clamshell stretcher, night vision goggles, and a satellite phone. As the warm weather and boating season ramps up, RCMSAR12 reminds people to follow safe boating guidelines: wear a lifejacket, tell someone where you are going and when you expect to return, and dial *16 on your cellphone if you experience trouble on the water.
