Seventy-five members of the Gibsons Seniors Society celebrated the holidays early with a pre-Christmas lunch at Harmony Hall. And harmony there was on Dec. 17 as guests were greeted with live music, and visited with friends old and new as they sipped their Christmas punch and nibbled on their drink bites (smaller than appetizers as a big meal was on its way).
As guests settled in, Santa and his elf arrived distributing gift bags to each table in the midst of much laughter, as for many, it had been a long time since Santa had been seen in person. And for most, his elf had never been seen before. Chef Barry presided over the amazing roast beef lunch with the sharpest of his knives after he had spent the morning in the kitchen cooking the rest of the meal.
Before the carol singing started, not quite a stampede but at least a rush to the dessert buffet laden with chef’s homemade Christmas treats.
All left filled with the Spirit of Christmas as it had been a long time since any of our members had been able to enjoy a sit-down meal together. A time to catch up, meet friends old and new and make plans for January’s busy activity schedule. All seniors are so very welcome at Harmony Hall, located where else, but on Harmony Lane in Gibsons. Check the website to see the line up of activities in January and start the new year off with a fun filled activity calendar.
