Saturdays, shop till you drop in downtown Madeira! The Bargain Barn is open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Across the street, the EarthFair Store, open Wednesday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., has books for everyone. Just steps away, the Madeira Market, hosted by the Pender Harbour Community Club, has a great variety of vendors with new treasures each week, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Courtyard. New vendors welcome. The Pender Harbour Reading Centre is once again partnering with the StrongStart team of School District No. 46 to offer a drop-in reading program for children and caregivers. Dates are July 7, 14, 21 and 28 as well as Aug. 4 and 11, from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Location is the yard of the Reading Centre. Public health protocols and physical distancing will be followed. Children will be encouraged to keep reading logs and will receive a certificate on Aug. 11.

On Friday, July 2, the Clubhouse Dinner Show has the fabulous duo Apasionado to entertain from 5 to 8 p.m. while you fine dine. Sunday, fresh from their Canada Day show on Gunboat Bay, the fantastic Peter Van Trio, 2 to 5 p.m. $5 cover. Reserve now!

Fibreworks Studio and Gallery have moved their opening reception to July 10 at 2 p.m. They have waited so long to welcome you and want to make it as fun and comfortable as possible. Visit www.fibreworksgallery.com.

Harbourside Friendships will come together starting Thursday, July 8 in the Courtyard behind the Hall. Pack a lunch, join this safe social gathering and learn to make a paper crane. A collection of cranes in honour of Origami Sam, Sam Campbell, will be gathered as a tribute to this lovely man who is dearly missed.

Carpet Bowling will be rolling again Wednesdays 1 to 3 p.m. starting July 3. Drop in $3 at the Hall.

Chair Yoga with Carole Logtenberg begins Monday, July 5 as well as July 9, 12, 16, 19, 23, from 11 a.m. to noon. Drop-in $3 at the Hall.
