The Sunshine Coast Lions Club, in partnership with the Lighthouse Pub, is once again appealing to our local community to help us provide relief to the global community by raising funds to assist the people of Syria and Turkey.
We can only imagine how devastated we would feel if a powerful earthquake were to suddenly hit us and change our lives and landscape forever. We would hope that the world would come to our rescue, providing basic needs until we could once again function on our own.
Your local Lions Club works together with the International Lions Club to do what we can. All monies raised goes directly to those who are in need – no overhead, no administration fees.
If you would like to help, please join us on March 26 at the Lighthouse Pub. Tickets are $25 per person for a beer (or wine) and a burger. Thanks to our generous sponsors, all the money goes directly to the relief effort.
Additionally, we will have a silent auction, the incomparable live music of Jim Taylor, and 50/50 draws.
Tickets are available at Tasters Oil and Vinegar, at the Lions table on Saturday at the No meat draw, or at the door on March 26. There will be two seatings: noon to 4 p.m. for lunch or 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. for dinner. Our Ukrainian Relief effort last year sold out and we raised more than $16,000. Let’s do it again, Sechelt.
