Raffle supports conservation efforts

The Sunshine Coast Conservation Association (SCCA) has launched a fundraising raffle offering a locally-made wooden row boat, hand-crafted by Nicol Warn, as first prize.

The Sunshine Coast Conservation Association (SCCA) has launched a fundraising raffle offering a locally-made wooden row boat, hand-crafted by Nicol Warn, as first prize.

Proceeds from this raffle will further the work of the society to preserve the natural biodiversity of the Sunshine Coast region for the present and future benefit of humanity and all life.

The public will have an opportunity to support the SCCA and a chance to win unique prizes that also include: a Sunshine Coast art package, featuring three unique creations from three local artists (Kathi Dunlop, Katie Janyk and Mellon Glass); and a Roberts Creek getaway package at Crystal Ranch Guesthouse and the Gumboot Restaurant.

Tickets are $5 each or three for $10. View the boat and buy raffle tickets on April 30 at the April Tools event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Millennium Park in Madeira Park; on Canada Day, July 1 in Sechelt; and at Creek Daze on Aug. 20, or you can purchase from any SCCA director.

Prize-winning tickets will be drawn at 3 p.m. on Aug. 20 at Roberts Creek Daze.
