Pender Harbour-Egmont Highlights: Community School Christmas Craft Fair is this weekend

The Community School Christmas Craft Fair is tomorrow, Saturday Dec. 2 at the Hall. This wonderful event is always focused on the joy and fun at this time of the year, especially for children. 

Next Saturday, Dec. 9 is the Community Club Christmas Market 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hall. Fabulous vendors, silent auction, bake sale, White Elephant, door prizes and $5 lunches. Renew your Community Club membership. For more info, to volunteer and donate items call Lesley at 778-840-1692. 

One of the elements that makes Christmas special is the music, live music. There are three concerts for you to enjoy. The Pender Harbour choir Mid Winter Song Dec. 8 at the Sunshine Coast Botanical Gardens and Dec. 9 at the School of Music. Tickets $25 at EarthFair from Choir members and at the door. Then, the Pender Harbour Music Society presents Sweet Scarlet’s Holiday Concert Dec. 10, 2 p.m. at the School of Music. The Christmas a cappella performance by these six women is full of surprises and musical joyfulness. Find tickets on the society’s website. 

Gather up your lucky charms and join the festive fun at Christmas Bingo Thursday, Dec. 14 at the Hall. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Games from 6:30 p.m. Potluck buffet and present raffle at intermission. Donations for the food bank are welcomed. 

A tremendous success last year, the glorious Winterfest returns for an encore at Millennium Park Saturday, Dec. 16, 3 to 7 p.m. 

The Bargain Barn will close for the 2023 season on Saturday, Dec. 16. All children’s merchandise is now two for one. New Christmas stock every day. 

The Spreading Kindness Fundraiser assists local youth and families in need by supporting the Pender Harbour Community School Youth and Families Support Program. Funds are used to purchase essential supplies, food security support and to address the specific needs as well as traditional Christmas items. Our food bank has a fantastic crew of 20-plus dedicated volunteer serving our caring community they love. There has been generous support from residents throughout the year, a necessity, so those needing aid in these trying times are helped. The PHFBS is grateful for the partners, community groups and private individuals who step up to make the Christmas season a beautiful one for the ever-growing list of clients who find the struggles of this life overwhelming.  

The Pender Harbour Food Bank is a registered charity and provides tax receipts for donations over $20. Donations of non-perishable food items can be dropped off at the Community Church “Blessing Box” at 12891, Lagoon Road or other blessing boxes in Garden Bay and Egmont.
