Tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 17 is all about celebrating the holiday season in the harbour.

Santa is coming to town and so is George Connell to entertain us with his extraordinary “Stories and Songs” tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 17 at three downtown Madeira locations. He will begin his small carbon footprint travelling show at Java Docks at 1 p.m. Across the street, Groundwaves will welcome him for a 2 p.m. performance. At 3 p.m., his grand finale will be at Earthfair Store. Not to be missed! Lovely Christmas gift. Thank you, George!

An hour later, Light Up the Town, the annual tree lighting, a fantastic event, starts at 4 p.m. and goes until 7:30 p.m. at Millennium Park. Enjoy Santa’s workshop, food trucks, vendors, photos with Santa, live music, and a licenced area for holiday spirits. The tree lighting will be at 5 p.m. precisely! The 58th Christmas Boat Parade sets sail from the government dock at 6 p.m. Decorate your boat in the spirit of the season and join in this very special harbour tradition.
