Robert (Bob) Preston Sandison, passed suddenly on December 14, 2023, at his home in Sechelt, BC at age 72.

Recently predeceased by his loving wife Lana. Bob is survived by his siblings, Bill and Janet, as well as stepsons Stuart and Warren. Grandsons Marcus, Tyler, Daniel and Ryan, in addition to his numerous nieces and nephews, will all miss him dearly.

Bob was born in Vancouver, BC, on May 7, 1951 and spent most of his life in the lower mainland. He lived in Saskatoon for a few years in the 1970's, where his adoptive father was a university professor. As a young man, he managed a truck rental agency in Kelowna, BC. Most of Bob's working life, however, was dedicated to the City of Vancouver, where he retired as a foreman after 30+ years of service.

An avid tennis player, pianist, painter and photographer, Bob was rarely idle. Between running errands for Lana, tending to his beloved dog Cooper, or planning their next adventure, Bob was kept active throughout his retirement, despite his mobility challenges. Moving to Sechelt in 2015 brought much joy to their lives and Bob will forever be a Sunshine Coast advocate.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Devlin Funeral Home in Gibsons, BC from 2pm-4pm. Refreshments will be served, and all that knew him are encouraged to attend and share their stories of Bob. If unable to attend in person, please contact the funeral home directly for a Zoom link to the service. Donations to the SPCA, in Bob's memory, are requested in lieu of flowers.
