It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Nancy Ruth Bromley on December 30, 2022 at Sechelt Hospital with family by her side. Nancy (Nan) was born on September 14, 1923 at home in West Vancouver the youngest of seven children to Ralph and Daisy Shirley. After graduating from high school in 1940, Nan went to work for the government and then the Air Force where she met the love of her life Gilbert in 1943.

In 1947 Mom and Dad were married and settled in Burnaby where they built their first home with the help of Gib's father Sid. In 1962 after spending many summers at Gib's parents home in Roberts Creek, they purchased a waterfront lot two lots east of theirs and again with Sid's help built a summer cabin. In 1989, when Dad retired, they moved full-time to the Sunshine Coast where they built their dream home with Mom being the designer and ideas person and Dad being the implementer of those ideas. Mom also loved to travel and on many of those adventures she found items that she wanted to add to her home. Being the idea's person, Dad was in charge of incorporating those items into the house. The most challenging was a massive 500 lb. bronze church bell they found in St. Lucia that now hangs above the circular staircase.

Mom was predeceased by her parents, six siblings, and her beloved husband. She leaves to mourn her passing her children, Gregg (Donna), Bob (Lai Jean) and Matthew (Yancy), seven grandsons, Joshua, Michael, Stephen, Luke, Mike, Aaron and Jacob and 10 great-grandchildren.
