We are sad to share that Lionel Speck has passed on May 23, 2025, after a struggle with cancer.
Lionel was born in West Vancouver but spent most of his life on the Sunshine Coast. He built a successful heating and sheet metal business as did his father before him. His wife, Vicki Speck predeceased him in 2012. He leaves behind his brother, John Speck and many family and friends too numerous to name. Lionel had a love for Mexico which he was able to indulge after his retirement, and he also enjoyed many fishing trips with dear friends. His soft spot was his love for animals which kept him going right to the end. His daily feedings of his crow friends that might not have endeared him with all his neighbours but filled him with happiness. Any dog that visited him became his best friend.
There will be no service as requested but if you would like to make a donation to an animal rescue society, it would be a touching gesture in his memory.
