Linda Joanne Klausen (nee Taylor, nee LeBlanc), departed peacefully from this world full of love from her large and loving family. Linda was predeceased by her adoring husband, Jakob, and her son Michael. She will be remembered by her ginourmous family, from coast to coast: Loretta Gardner (nee LeBlanc, Jimmy, Shelly [Megan and Sonja], and Cindy); Colin; Liz (Steve and Taylor); Chris (Marcia); Christine (Gary, Jason, and Maria); Anthony (Candy, Salem, and Ginger); Patrick (Amanda, Chantel [Scott and Avaya], Brandon [Aliese], Cora [Marcus, Mazie and Jemma], Courtney [Connor], and Jazzmin [Keaton and future great-grandchild #11]; along with her many friends. Linda (Gigi) will be remembered for her baking and blackberry jelly, along with her generous soul, big heart, and a spirit that was full of determination and inspirational resilience. Linda was born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, moved to Toronto in the mid '50s, where four of her five children were born. Her youngest was born in New Westminster in 1968, after which the family returned to Toronto before returning to BC and settling on the coast in 1971. Linda lived with her children in Roberts Creek until 1979, after which she moved to Gibsons. She met Jakob Klausen, the love of her life, in 1980 and married in 1981.  Together, Jakob and Linda opened a restaurant and catering business at the old Pen Hotel until it closed its doors. Linda worked as a baker and cashier at Ken's Lucky Dollar, where she is remembered for her delicious baked goods and infectious laughter. In '94 they moved into their final home in the Kiwanis apartments. Linda was a proud member of the Gibsons Legion Branch 109 and enjoyed giving back to the community as an active member of their Ladies Auxiliary and the Elves Club. A celebration of life will be held in the Legion Hall on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada.
