Sadly, after a lengthy battle with MS, Jurgen Fritz Ludwig passed away peacefully on July 2, 2023, with his wife of 55 years, Sandra, and family by his side. He is survived by his sister Brigitte Trippe, niece, Claudia, and nephew Stephen. He is predeceased by his parents Friederick and Kaete and his beloved companion and sidekick Milo.

After arriving in Canada from Germany in the late 1950's, Jurgen commenced an illustrious career in the hospitality industry in both food and beverage and hotel opening and management in Canada and South East Asia. Retiring in the early 2000's to the Sunshine Coast, Jurgen  and his wife Sandra designed and built a stunning B&B overlooking the Strait of Georgia and Vancouver Island. They welcomed many to their home with warmth and generosity.

Jurgen was well known for his hotel management, culinary skills and his gregarious and welcoming personality. He will be missed by friends, family and the many people whose lives he affected in the hospitality industry.

The family is grateful to the VCH care team and the palliative care team for their kindness and compassion.

Donations can be made to the M.S. Society of Canada or the BC SPCA.

A Celebration of Jurgen's life will be held at a later date.
