The smartEd mindfulness training program is being offered from April 10 to May 29 for Sunshine Coast residents working with children and adolescents.

Developed by UBC, mindfulness-based stress management and resiliency techniques (smartEd) is the most researched mindfulness program for educators in North America.

Immersed in eight weeks of experiential mindfulness training and group practice, participants learn to reduce stress, increase resilience and create emotionally balanced, compassionate environments – both internally and externally.

This challenging and life-affirming course is provided in a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment.

Facilitated by UBC-accredited instructors Stacia Leech, Wendy Charters and Bev Ferneough, the program runs Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Roberts Creek Community School library. There is also a silent retreat on Saturday, May 12.

To register or for more information, including program cost, email [email protected] or call 604-885-3481.
