Pictured left to right are Wilma Jones, Vanessa Tonis, Grayden Holmes, Molly Ridd, and Carol Duff.

Recently, Wilma Jones and Carol Duff from the Gibsons Legion came to Langdale to present three grade 7 students awards for the annual Remembrance Day writing and poster contest.

All entries are judged in a specific zone (Sunshine Coast, including Powell River).

Molly Ridd won first prize for her poem; Vanessa Tonis won second prize for her poem and Grayden Holmes won third prize for his entry in the black and white poster category.

Their entries will now be forwarded to be judged at the provincial level.

We are very proud of these Langdale Elementary students.

We are also grateful for the Legion in supporting this contest and encouraging students from K-12 to reflect about what Remembrance Day means to them.
