Meet the farm animals

Gibsons Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre
rehab
Get a kiss from a llama and a back scratch from a horse on May 7 in support of Gibsons Wildlife Rehab Centre.

Come meet the farm animals, while supporting injured local wildlife. Interact, hold, feed and learn about over 20 varieties of farm animals. Meet the national champion Andalusian horse that talks and scratches your back, and a goat that walks on her hind legs. Feed a teacup pig that sits and makes faces, and receive a kiss from Dodger the llama.

Tour the farm, take a free pony ride, and enjoy the petting pen, complete with animal goodie bags, by donation to the Gibsons Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre. Sit back and savour homemade bakery goods from NuTrish’s Foods, while local singer and guitarist Bonar Harris performs throughout the afternoon.

Meet Clint and Irene Daveys, who operate the Centre. As the Wildlife Centre’s federal and provincial permits do not allow public viewing of wildlife, this fundraiser gives children and adults the opportunity to learn about, touch and interact compassionately with farm animals – a tactile experience that is becoming rarer in today’s society.

The fabulous, fun event will be held at Party Ponies and Farm Ventures, 713 Sullivan Rd., on Sunday, May 7, from noon to 3 p.m. All donations will go to Gibsons Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre.
