Madeira Market, hosted by the Pender Harbour Community Club on Saturdays in the Gardens rain or shine, started April 3 and now has come to a close for the season. The tag – “Come visit! Come shop!” – worked. The market became a weekly social. The wonderful folks whose faces we had not seen for so long, came. We had the best conversations, and hugs (when allowed); real feelings flowed amongst real people. Stellar vendors Judy and Rob came every Saturday from Langdale offering their enormous support for the market (and moi). Wendy baked her delicious delights throughout the hellish heat wave and Rachel had new rockin’ masterpieces each week. Musical performances from Geri, Rick, Matt, Tim and Suzanne were the highlights of the day prompting singalongs and happy dancing. Huge heartfelt thanks to all for an incredibly special season.

Flair on The Coast has reopened. Their next meeting is this Saturday, Oct. 9, 10 a.m. to noon at the Rockwood Centre in Sechelt. Please note the meeting will be held on the ground floor on the opposite side of the building to the previous location. At this meeting Dana Brynelsen, reader of stories, will be part of their open forum.
