Lions Club preparing for Christmas season

Time to trim the tree, cook the bird, and show goodwill towards your fellow man. So much to do, so little time, and wow – have prices ever gone up.

Time to trim the tree, cook the bird, and show goodwill towards your fellow man. So much to do, so little time, and wow – have prices ever gone up. Don’t panic – members of the Sunshine Coast Lions Club have some ideas to help with it all.

Starting Nov. 27 and continuing until Dec. 15, watch for our yellow shirts at the entrance to Clayton’s. We will be there Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., selling raffle tickets for Clayton’s gift cards. Cost is $2 each or 3 for $5 and you might be the lucky winner of a $750, $500 or $250 gift card. Draw will take place on Dec. 16th.

The Lions are also selling fresh cut Christmas Trees – $50 per tree. Join us on Dec. 2nd, 3rd, 9th, or 10th at 5770 Nickerson Rd in West Sechelt from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. You pick the tree and one of our volunteers will cut it for you and help load it onto your vehicle. It is first come; first served so get yours early.

And finally, join us at the Lighthouse Pub and/or Buccaneers on Dec. 16th for a special Meat Draw, 2 – 3:30 p.m. Tickets are 2 for $5 and there will be 12 draws for one of six turkeys or one of six hams.

All proceeds from these events are used locally to support those with needs within your community.
