Over 500 hand-written memories were burned at the Sunshine Coast Hospice Society’s annual Lighting of the Memories at Mission Point Park on Jan. 1.
The Threshold Choir sang gentle songs while members of the assembled crowd took turns putting notes to lost loved ones on the fire. The notes – collected throughout November and December at various locations around the Coast – contained messages from the living for loved ones who have died.
