Kudos to organizers of ‘good egg’ project

The Friday night dinner show is April 30 at the Clubhouse. Enjoy delicious food accompanied by the perfect pairing, wonderful live music from the duo Shine from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 2, Poppa Greg is back with fine blues and popular covers from 2 to 5 p.m. Reserve a table at 604-883-9542. Come shop for Mother’s Day gifts or a nice treat just for yourself at Madeira Market this Saturday, May 1, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tables of treasures will include beautiful bling, bracelets and pendants, gift baskets, green growing goodies including Stella D’Oro lilies, cannas, dahlia tubers 10 for $10, ornamental grasses, rhubarb and herbs. Info and handouts from two important non-profit societies in our community, Sunshine Coast Bear Alliance and ElderDog, along with volunteer applications if you would like to get involved. Proceeds go to the Pender Harbour Community Club. COVID protocols in place.

The brand-new van is ready and waiting for seniors who need transport to medical appointments at the Pender Harbour Health Centre. This fine vehicle has room for two wheelchairs. Book a time by calling the community coordinator at 604-251-7488 every Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the following week. There is a fee for this service. If you have any questions, please call the number above.

April Volunteer Recognition Month is just about over, and I hope you have had a chance to tour the fantastic display of “good eggs” throughout our community. There are over 65 eggs representing the non-profit volunteer groups and good folks. Volunteers are the core, the infrastructure and lifeblood of our community. Thanks to all of you “good eggs” and special thanks to the Pender Harbour Community School for organizing this incredibly special event.
