Kisses & Kicks

• Kisses to the organizers of the wonderful Gibsons Community Easter Dinner. Your kindness is so appreciated.

• Kisses and thanks to Dr. Graveling and staff at the Sechelt Animal Hospital for the amazing care our Dakoda received during his emergency.

• Kicks to thieves who steal flowers from the new pots in downtown Sechelt, blooming to bring more joy to those visiting, shopping or stopping for a bite. If you receive a plant without a pot, do ask where it came from. This is not how we Coasters treat each other or our small businesses. – Penny Lyle & the Sechelt Garden Club volunteers

• Kicks to the people who treat the fire pit on the Squamish Lands as a garbage dump. Many kisses to those generous souls who clean it up afterwards. Probably not the same folks.

• Kisses to the TraC volunteers who swept the dirt-covered bike lanes on Highway 101 west of Venture Way.

• Kicks to the property owners who don’t clean up the debris that gets dumped on our roads and bike lanes by trucks leaving your property.

• Kisses to the Doyle Real Estate Team for continuing to donate funds to the Sunshine Coast Community Services Society redevelopment project – Building Together – from every sale they make! These realtors care for their community!

• Kisses to Gibsons Building Supplies for donating the lumber for the trim around the Building Together billboard sign. Keep your eyes open for it, Pender Harbour!

• Kisses to The Local paper for the years of providing a community paper.

• Kicks to the group of anti-COVID protesters at Davis Bay on Saturday. Get off your Facebook groups and stop promoting disinformation in our community. Shame on you all.

• Kisses and kudos to the saviour(s) who uprighted the windblown young, beautiful fir tree at Norwest Bay Road and Highway 101 twice. I hope it will be allowed to live a long, healthy life.

• Kiss of appreciation to Kyle at Mainstay Computers for generously helping me immediately over the phone (on a late afternoon Friday) to solve a quirky computer puzzle I was experiencing, and even kindly gifting me with your wisdom tips.
